Lazy day on Walton Backwaters

To be truthful you can’t actually drive past us because we are a peninsula, but I’m sure you understand what I mean. If you don’t get out and look – and I mean REALLY LOOK around wherever you are, then scenes like this simply go unnoticed.
Last summer was really very wet but that allowed for some pretty spectacular sights when the sun did come out. This was late in the day, in late summer at a low tide on the backwaters in Walton-on-the-Naze. Right towards the end of what they call the ‘Golden Hour’ in photography. The best time of day for soft, yet contrasty enough light to give great form and colour. For those not…
