I can’t believe it is April already. It is still so cold in the UK that it seems like summer will never arrive. Here we are a week in to April and we are still going out wrapped in scarves, hats and gloves. Last weekend we went on an Easter egg hunt with the grandchildren in the gardens of  beautiful  Chippenham Park, near Newmarket. It was dry but really cold. The grounds of this stately home are lovely and it was great fun trying to find hidden wooden rabbits, which are then swopped for a  chocolate egg. I even managed to find a golden rabbit, which gave my granddaughter a star prize of a large Lindt Golden Bunny. She was thrilled. Chippenham Park  I love these bronze boxing hare sculptures by the side of the lake.

The Embroidery Crazy website has been updated with new machine embroidery designs for April and the  downloadable free designs for April are available. There is this spring flower trug design, perfect for home decor items. FlowerTrug

There is a new butterfly design which would look pretty on both clothing and home makes.

There is also a castle in the fantasy section and some fish. The free designs are this pretty campanula flower design.

I love the blue bell shaped flowers. There is also a cute little duckling.

As it is still so cold of course I was busy sewing yesterday. I made this backpack for my pirate loving grandson, who will be four on Friday.

Jo's backpackAlthough I make lots of bags, it was quite challenging as I have never sewn piping round a bag before and I also had to make the piping first. I am quite pleased with the end result though, as I like the red against the blue of the pirate fabric.

At least while it is freezing outside I have lots of time to sew!!

April has arrived and Embroidery Crazy has been online for a year now. The time has gone so quickly. Our April free machine embroidery designs are now ready to download so if you have an embroidery machine head over to our website. http://www.embroiderycrazy.co.uk/shop/specials/

There is an Easter design perfect for card making and this very sweet little elephant which would be great for any makes for spring new arrivals.

It has been wonderfully warm for a couple of weeks on the East Anglian coast, amazing for March in the UK. We have had people on our beach, normally empty at this time of year! The photo was taken last weekend. However April arrived and the temperatures have gone back down to normal – it’s currently 10 degrees here at midday. But the sun is out so it’s not unpleasant for our school Easter holidays. We have the National Kite Surfing championships taking place in nearby Clacton-On-Sea next weekend so I hope to take some great photographs! I shall post any decent ones. Meanwhile have a very Happy Easter whatever you are up to.

We have had some lovely weather in East Anglia this week and it is starting to feel like Spring is well on the way. Many of the spring flowers are appearing early so I have posted the lovely spring picture above to wish everyone Happy Springtime. We have just made the free machine embroidery designs for March available for dowmload on the website. There is a pretty bluebell design and this cherries design  which would brighten up any kitchen or other home items. There are also four more new designs. This Easter one  is perfect for making a card. I also like this Spring design which would also make a pretty card or look really good on home decor items.

A new addition to our ‘crazy’ range is this very cute turtle.  He would be a hit with any child.

There is also a lizard which would look good on clothing. It is a single colour so quick to stitch.

This week I have been learning how to do free motion quilting on the old Bernina I got as a bargain at a car boot sale. It is really easy to do using the Bernina and I made a pretty tea cosy for our teapot. Today I shall be using my new skill to make a present for my youngest daughter who has a birthday very soon. I’m looking forward to our family get together next weekend.

It’s nearly Easter and we have been busy creating new designs for the website. There are two designs with slogans, a Spring daffodil, a partying dog (!), a classic tiger and this cute little stegosaurus.

The weather at the moment is fantastic, I can’t believe it’s lasting!! I took some lovely photos walking along the river as the sun was going down the other evening. This is one of my favourites.

The beach has been very busy with all this lovely weather. It’s very tempting to go and sit there instead of working!! We hope to be adding another website to our stable soon, watch this space!
